The Derwent Burnisher is a hard colourless pencil which when used over layers of pigment provides a rich polished finish. Burnishing pushes the pigment into the paper and leaves a very well blended, photo like finish. It makes the colours look brighter and can give an image a polished or reflective look by sealing it with a heavy layer of colourless wax. The Derwent Burnisher is available individually or as part of the Burnisher & Blender Set.

The type of media you are using will dictate which type of blender you need.

If you are working with coloured pencils and want to create a subtle blend of colours then the Derwent Blender Pencil is the ideal accessory. It is a soft colourless pencil made from the binder used for making coloured pencils and allows you to blend two or more colours together to create a new colour. At the same time it physically mixes and smoothes the colours so individual strokes and hard edges are softened.
